The Coronavirus pandemic is impacting services at Winch House. We have been directed by a number of authorities such as Surf Coast Shire, the Department of Health, and Neighbourhood Houses Victoria to do our bit to slow the spread of the virus in our community. Some of these directions are optional, some are mandatory.
With immediate effect, Winch House is closed to the public EXCEPT FOR CHILDCARE. There will be no classes, room hire, activities, computer/internet use. We will continue to work in the office as much as possible, but are not permitted to hold face-to-face meetings or discussions.
Our childare service continues as normal, with an increased level of hygiene such as frequent washing of hands and surfaces. We do expect that any family that has been in contact with someone who has cold or flu-like symptoms to self-isolate themselves, and stop their child(ren) attending childcare. Similarly, any family that has been in contact with an overseas traveller (from anywhere) should self-isolate. The more we can all do to limit and slow the spread, the less our health services will need to deal with at once.
For further information on the Coronavirus (Covid-19), please refer to an official and trusted source such as the federal Department of Health. Beware of rumours and conjecture that you may come across in social media and in conversations, there's a lot of rubbish circulating.
Winchelsea Community House now has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status via a public fund.
We can now accept donations and you can receive a tax deduction for this. To find out more, contact us on 5267 2028.
