What We Have For YOu

Resources

At your local community centre, there’s a range of equipment, tools and resources available. We’d love to say everything is free, however the reality is that these resources need purchasing, managing, maintaining and replacing so generally you’ll need to make a contribution to use them. Rates and charges depend on what you want to use and for how long, and are subject to change from time to time.

Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss the options and the details.

Book Library

Free book library! Winch House has a free book library for you, courtesy of donations by the community.

Come and grab something new to read, all sorts to be found.

Are you a bit of a bookworm? We’d love someone to keep an eye on the book library every now and then, to keep it tidy and ordered, throw out broken or wrecked items, maybe even highlight really good books or new additions.

How about a book club? Get together with friends to talk over what you thought of a particular book or author.

Printing & Copying

Winchelsea Community House is able to provide full colour, double-sided, folded and even stapled documents from a copy or a printed file.

Get your printing and copying needs met locally within Winchelsea. Got to photocopy important documents or completed forms? Scan the copies directly to your own email address. Got a newsletter you’d like to print and send to your members/customers? Make as many editions as you need and even pre-fold them ready to hand out. Pricing is set by whether you want black & white or colour, the paper size (A5, A4 or A3 available), and whether you print on one side or both sides.

It’s important to recognise that Winch House is not providing a full commercial printing service, it’s essentially a self-serve facility – we have a fabulous resource but do not have experts on hand to create and format documents. You’ll need to put together your source documents yourself and either email or bring them to Reception as PDF. If you only need copying, have them printed ready to be photocopied. Make an appointment so we can help choose the right printer options and get the process started with you. You’ll need to be in attendance for the duration of your printing, and you’ll need to be there to collect all the outputs if it’s a large job.

This is a great asset available to the community, and we’d like to thank the Winchelsea Star for its support in getting this upgraded facility. Call in soon to find out more!

Computer & Internet

If you need access to a computer with Microsoft Office (eg. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), call in to take advantage of our desktop computers.

We have one computer with large-button keyboard and a ball-mouse in case of mobility issues.

Internet access is available on these computers, and they can print (A4 or A3, in black & white or colour). Printing is charged per page used ie. whether blank or not, and is higher where the printer reports the use of colour (whether that shows on the page or not) – this simply reflects the costs incurred by Winch House from the printer supplier.

Booking is advisable.

Public Address System

Originally purchased and owned by the Winchelsea Festival organisation (now defunct), this public address system is available for community groups. There are 3 large speakers (which don’t need their own power), reels of speaker cabling, a central mixing desk, several wired and wireless microphones, head-height speaker stands, microphone stands. The mixing desk does require a power supply. None of this equipment should be regarded as rain-proof, although the speakers can be located outdoors with bin bags on if necessary.

A volunteer may be available to assist with setup and maybe even to operate the public address system at events.

Booking is advisable.
